The government of Osun State has guaranteed safety for both residents and visitors within the state, advising people who are not in the area to ignore social media posts indicating otherwise.
These incidents follow recent communal clashes in Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin Osun, resulting in fatalities and damage to properties.
While welcoming tourists who had come to Osogbo through the state’s Imole Free Train Service, the Commerce Commissioner, Bunmi Jenyo, urged them to freely explore the region.
“It has been another successful trip for us in Osun as we see travelers moving from Lagos and Ogun states to Osun state during holidays. We thank Governor Ademola Adeleke for his gracious initiative,” Jenyo stated.
He encouraged visitors to disregard security concerns being shared online, stressing that Osun continues to be tranquil.
Osun is secure. Please ignore any posts on social media suggesting otherwise about the safety of Osun. The present government has taken significant measures to ensure the security of every part of Osun, and we can all attest to the progress made in various areas.
“Although the opposition might use social media to spread alternative narratives, do not take their claims at face value. I encourage them to visit various regions within the state and observe the ongoing projects. Rest assured, Osun is secure,” he emphasized.
A declaration made by the Information Officer at the Ministry of Commerce, Ademiotan Adegbulugbe, on Sunday affirmed that the Imole Free Train Service, funded by Governor Adeleke’s government, carried numerous vacationers from Lagos to Osogbo on Saturday night.
