Gopalganj (Bihar), India, March 30 (ANI): The Union Home Minister
Amit Shah
on Sunday said that Congress failed to carry out development work in the last 65 years, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi achieved significant progress in just 10 years.

At a gathering in Gopalganj, Shah emphasized the accomplishments of the BJP-run administration and contrasted these with the preceding governance.

“Under our BJP administration, we allocated Rs 6,000 annually to 87 lakh farmers… Through the Jal Jeevan Mission, we brought tap water access to 1 crore 60 lakh households. Health services worth up to Rs 5 lakh were made available to 3 crore 52 lakh individuals… Additionally, we ensured cooking gas connections for 1 crore 17 lakh women… The RJD previously wreaked havoc across Bihar with rampant kidnappings, murders, and intimidation. Do the citizens of Bihar wish to return to such governance?” he questioned.

He mentioned that Bihar saw progress following the NDA government taking office.

In 2025, elections for the Vidhan Sabha will take place in Bihar. At this point, the state needs to determine if it wishes to move towards the ‘Jungle Raj’ led by Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi, or pursue the developmental pathway.

Over the past decade, numerous developmental projects have been undertaken which Congress failed to accomplish over the span of 65 years…, according to Shah.

The Home Minister similarly criticized the previous Chief Minister of Bihar.
Lalu Prasad Yadav
, calling his 1990-2005 tenure an era of “Jungle Raj” and accusing his government of corruption, particularly citing the fodder scam.

During Lalu Yadav’s tenure as chief minister from 1990 to 2005, his administration tarnished Bihar’s reputation both nationally and internationally through a widespread fodder scam across the state. His regime will forever be remembered as ‘Jungle Raj’ in Bihar’s historical narrative,” stated the Home Minister.

Earlier in the day,
Amit Shah
was inaugurated and participated in laying the foundation stones for several development initiatives across Bihar.

He likewise emphasized the BJP administration’s initiatives in building infrastructure.

Under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, roads, electricity, and piped water now extend to every village.
PM Modi
has strived to advance Bihar’s underprivileged by providing them with homes, bathrooms, water supply, medical care, and rations,” he further stated.

Shah also discussed the BJP’s efforts in agriculture, specifically via Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS). He highlighted their work with maize cultivation as well as reopening idle factories.

“The BJP-led government has made several attempts to bolster PACS. They set up a maize processing facility and revitalized it with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore to assist corn growers,” he stated.

Apart from discussing farming, Shah talked about the BJP’s dedication to rejuvenating sugar mills and boosting output in the pulses and oilseed industries. He further emphasized PACS’ growth into emerging market segments.

“We are exerting our best efforts to get the shut-down sugar mills up and running again. Significant progress has been made in both the pulse and oilseed industries too. Currently, all PACS presidents are gathered at this location. Additionally, these PACS entities are venturing into new areas such as operating pharmacies and fuel stations,” he stated.

Bihar is gearing up for assembly elections later this year. (ANI)
