As per the report, Morocco experienced a 35% rise in visitor numbers in 2024 when measured against the figures from 2019 before the pandemic. Historic urban centers like Marrakech and Fez, desert excursions with camels in the Sahara, and climbing paths through the Atlas Mountains were noted as key draws for those looking for thrilling experiences.

The report noted, ‘Morocco presents a distinctive and engaging experience through its mix of Amazigh, Arabic, and European cultural elements.’ ‘The Roman remnants at Volubilis and lively traditional bazaars add to Morocco’s charm, making it an important historical and cultural site.’

The document further highlighted that Morocco, alongside Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Colombia, became notable travel spots because of various important reasons: strong investment in infrastructure, increased options for culture and exploration, more flexible visa regulations, and an increasing interest from tourists seeking genuine, engaging encounters.

Citing previous information from the United Nations World Tourism Organization, the platform highlighted almost full restoration in global travel when compared to the period before the COVID-19 pandemic, primarily fueled by increased demand from Asian-Pacific regions.

The most recent Global Tourism Index further indicates that contemporary tourists are placing greater emphasis on richer, more significant encounters, alongside convenience and security.

As per Morocco’s Ministry of Tourism, Crafts, and Social and Sustainable Development, the nation received 11.6 million visitors by the conclusion of July 2025, representing an increase of 16% compared to the corresponding time frame in 2024. During July only, Morocco documented 2.7 million incoming travelers, indicating a growth of 6% when contrasted with the prior year.

These numbers highlight the ongoing progress in Morocco’s tourism revival, establishing the nation as a pioneer in the worldwide resurgence of travel.
