The Transportation Secretary, Vince Dizon, has mandated various modifications at Siargao Airport aimed at improving the aviation journey for travelers heading to one of the nation’s premier vacation spots.
Dizon, who conducted an inspection of crucial airport improvement initiatives in Mindanao during the weekend, ordered a modular extension at Siargao Airport to boost seating capacity and tackle overcrowding issues. Additionally, he mandated the dismantling of the VIP lounge along with surplus X-ray equipment to streamline the security screening procedure.
According to videos uploaded by Joseph Morong of GMA Integrated News on X (previously known as Twitter), Dizon appeared unhappy with the troubles faced by travelers at an airport processing about 17 daily flights.
“Extreme is the difficulty our countrymen and tourists face here. It’s incredibly cramped and hot! I removed this VIP lounge as it wasn’t necessary; instead, we can use this area to create more space for passengers even just a little bit,” Dizon stated.
(The local travelers and tourists here are struggling. The airport is extremely congested and stuffy! I instructed that this VIP lounge should be taken down as it is unnecessary and could provide more space for the passengers.)
As per the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Siargao Airport was among the provincial airports examined by the Secretary during inspections conducted on March 22-23, together with Zamboanga International Airport and Camiguin Airport.
“Seeing the immediate need for more spaces inside the terminal building for the passengers, Sec. Dizon instructed CAAP to immediately implement expansion works for the terminal building that will effectively triple the current seating capacity of the airport,” the agency said.
“He also ordered the Office for Transportation Security to eliminate the initial passenger security screenings immediately following a thorough security risk evaluation,” the statement continued.
The Department of Transportation announced that the expansion project for Siargao Airport is scheduled to finish by May 2025, providing advantages for residents as well as visitors.
Dizon further emphasized the DOTr’s objective to transform Siargao Airport into an international gateway over the long term and instructed CAAP to expedite the planning process for lengthening the runway as well as constructing a modern and top-tier passenger terminal.
“We will prioritize the development and promotion of the Siargao Airport as an international gateway highlighting the significant importance of Siargao Island, which is considered one of the top tourist destinations in the entire country,” the DOTr chief further stated.
(We will focus on the expansion and enhancement of Siargao Airport as an international gateway that shows the growing importance of Siargao Island which is considered one of the top tourist destinations in the country.)

With the latest release, OpenAI’s ChatGPT has transformed from a mere conversational agent into an advanced visual platform able to produce top-notch images and animations based on straightforward textual instructions. Leveraging OpenAI’s DALL·E technology along with sophisticated animation capabilities, this enhancement aims to revolutionize the way content producers, teachers, advertisers, and programmers carry out their tasks.
Picturing an energetic urban landscape, a cutting-edge device, or perhaps a brief animated sequence and seeing it come to life within moments—that’s what this innovative feature offers. It enables individuals to transcend mere descriptions, turning their concepts into images at remarkable speed.
What’s New?
OpenAI’s newest update adds built-in image creation and animation features right within the ChatGPT platform. This setup uses the advanced DALL·E model to allow users to provide detailed descriptions of scenes and get back top-notch, AI-produced images or brief animations in return.
This update grants access to advanced design features, thereby unlocking fresh creative processes across multiple sectors such as marketing, teaching, movie production, and visual communication.
Why It Stands Out as a Revolution
The capability to create images from written descriptions might transform creative workflows and reduce the entry barriers for individuals lacking formal design expertise. Creators can swiftly develop storyboards, marketers can instantly craft promotional graphics, and teachers can improve educational resources through customized visual aids.
Advantages of the Updated Functionality
• Graphics at Lightning Speed: Users have the ability to produce high-quality visuals and animations swiftly, dramatically enhancing their workflow efficiency.
• No Need for Design Software: The straightforward nature of the system enables individuals with no design experience to create visuals effortlessly, requiring no specialized training.
• Support for Content Creators & Educators: This tool promotes creative exploration with distinctive methods of expressing concepts.
Cons & Concerns
Even with all the enthusiasm, this update brings up significant ethical and practical issues. People worry about employment being affected in creative fields, the possibility of abuse leading to fake media production, and continuous discussions regarding creativity and intellectual property rights.
The availability of this kind of technology highlights the necessity for ethical guidelines and rules to stop improper use while promoting responsible development.
What’s Next?
OpenAI’s addition of visual features to ChatGPT is expected to encourage wider use in various settings such as classrooms, art studios, marketing firms, and more. Specialists anticipate AI evolving into a creative partner instead of just an instrument, emphasizing the significance of collaborations between humans and artificial intelligence.
As artificial intelligence progresses, the boundary separating human innovation from automated intellect grows more obscure. The way society decides to utilize this capability could tip the scales towards either an innovative upheaval or a significant disruption.
At present, ChatGPT’s latest incredible ability has arrived and it’s reshaping creativity as we understand it.

The director of Asia’s largest contemporary art fair on finding her voice through art and immersing herself in the artistic community
During my early years, I lived in Mainland China. My mother traveled with me across various regions of China due to her work, which spanned journalism, trading, and publishing. The precise sequence of her career changes eludes me, but I recall moving from one place to another frequently.
Shanghai, Shenzhen
And Nanning, close to the Vietnamese border. When I was about 12 years old, I was dispatched to England. Similar to numerous youngsters during that period, I was among the tide of children who were sent overseas for education.
Luck of the draw
In primary school, we were encouraged to maintain a journal. I recall my teacher mentioning, “There’s no need to begin your diary with ‘
jintian
‘Today, you could begin by illustrating your day; perhaps opt for a more artistic approach.’ When I was around eight or nine years old, I clearly preferred coloring my days rather than merely documenting events.
Finding a forte
Back when I was in mainland China, fields like art were not seen as legitimate subjects; they weren’t taken seriously compared to literature and sciences. Therefore, it wasn’t until I relocated to England that I discovered my passion for art and design. It took getting an A-Level art scholarship for me to realize, “Maybe this could actually be a viable career option.”

Express permission
When I was around 15 or 16 years old, my teacher first showed me
Alberto Giacometti’s work
His creations aren’t particularly simple to appreciate—they’re not the most visually appealing or vibrant. However, I found myself intrigued by the story behind them and the reasons driving this artist to produce such somber works. The paintings and sculptures exuded a profound sense of weightiness. For me, this represented the duality of art—it’s not merely about beautiful aspects of life. This realization led me to view art as more than decoration; instead, it became for me a form of expression and a historical record.
Master plan
My mom was skeptical about my choice of pursuing a fine arts degree. She felt I should opt for something closely related to art, but with better prospects for employment. As a result, I went ahead with that alternative option.
urban design and planning
At University College London, they offered me an unconditional place to pursue my master’s degree. I convinced my mother once more to let me study art history for my master’s since I had taken architectural history as part of my foundational coursework.
Goodbye, Gagosian
During my master’s degree, I worked in galleries and also had an internship at the Pinta Art Fair. Later, I received an invitation from the Gagosian to join as a registrar. However, I chose to relocate to Dubai with my then boyfriend instead of accepting the position at Gagosian.
Hello, Dubai
The first time I went to Dubai, sometime between 2008 and 2009, the city was just starting to develop its modern art community. I searched for galleries but could find only one or two. After interning at Art Dubai, I started looking into various possibilities until I connected with an individual collector named Rami Farook. He gave me a position within his collection. At that point, I informed my mom, “I’ve secured a role in Dubai.”
Moving on up
I applied to
Art Basel
Since I learned about the plan for a new fair opening in Hong Kong back in 2012, I decided to apply, not really expecting anything to come of it. However, I received a phone call the very next day offering me the position. Before I could fully process everything, three weeks had passed, and I found myself relocating to Hong Kong.
Community spirit
Upon arriving in Hong Kong
When I returned to Dubai, the art scene had expanded significantly since my initial arrival. However, the strong sense of community where everyone supported one another remained unchanged, which made the adjustment smooth. From Rami, I understood the significance of having a supportive community, a lesson I’ve carried with me ever since. Over these past 13 years, I have witnessed and been part of the growth of Hong Kong’s artistic circle alongside it.
In the family
I am a parent to two kids, and engaging with art has been an integral aspect of their upbringing. In contrast, this wasn’t something present during my own childhood. By the time my eldest child arrived in early February, the nearby Art Basel event took place just weeks later in March. Even at merely a month old, he attended his inaugural Art Basel exhibition. This tradition continued as he joined us for each subsequent show.
My young ones exhibit remarkable creativity through painting; they’re free to convey themselves without constraints imposed by notions of correctness or error within artistic expression. For them, making art comes naturally—almost like second nature—an inherent trait woven into who they are from birth.

Ryanair, the budget carrier, has introduced a new subscription plan designed to significantly reduce travel costs for those who fly frequently.
The fresh Prime subscription service made its debut on March 24, providing a range of benefits such as special privileges and exclusives.

It has a price of £79 for a year-long subscription, as mentioned
Ryanair
The membership perks for this service encompass “guaranteed reserved seating at no cost, complimentary travel insurance, and entry into twelve special member-only ticket sales each year.” This ensures that ‘Prime’ members can secure the most advantageous flight deals throughout the entire year.
The no-frills airline says the subscription will equate to £420 in savings for members who fly 12 times per year and even members who only fly three times a year will reportedly save themselves up to £105. But before you get too excited, there are a few fine-print details travellers should be aware of. For one, Ryanair is limiting access to the Prime subscription to 250,000 airline members on a first-come, first-served basis. So if you don’t already have a myRyanair account, you’ll need to get one quickly to be eligible for the scheme.

Additionally, the subscription is presently accessible exclusively to members residing in specific countries because of constraints related to insurance coverage. Currently, Ryanair Prime is available solely to members from these countries:

Belgium
-
France
-
Germany

Certain age restrictions apply regarding who can fully benefit from the subscription’s travel insurance coverage. Individuals within the European Union who are 70 years of age or older at the time they join, including those turning 70 during the policy term, won’t qualify for particular medical benefits with the Prime travel insurance plan.

A key detail travelers ought to keep in mind is that they’ll have just one opportunity each month to take advantage of the exclusive seat sales meant for members. As stated on the airline’s site: “For those who subscribe to Ryanair Prime, you’re entitled to secure as many as 12 complimentary spots for yourself and another dozen free seats for your chosen Ryanair Prime Companion within certain areas across particular routes throughout your subscription period. Should preferred seating not be accessible, standard random assignment comes into play.” To include a Ryanair Prime Companion under their account, members simply need to pay an extra voucher charge. While these companions enjoy most perks associated with being part of the program, booking responsibilities remain solely with the main subscriber.
